Selective is seeking an individual who provides advanced level support in programming languages, hardware/software integration, development tools and technologies within an application development team.  Leads a development team by example, actively participating in the design and architecture of solutions within his/her respective team while collaborating with technical architects to ensure solutions fit within established application development standards and conventions. Provides highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives. Viewed internally and externally as a technical expert within the technologies used to support his/her respective business application(s).  Maintains a sound understanding of the business processes that those applications support.

Responsibilities:
Acts as an expert technical consulting resource to development staff in all phases of the development and deployment process. Reviews specs, design and code and recommends changes to development team members to align with approved, application development framework

Performs analysis, systems design, coding and/or integrates purchased solutions. Documents, tests, implements and provides on-going support for applications

Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level on all phases of the project development life cycle. May involve project manager or other leadership role crossing IT systems, applications, and/or infrastructure teams.

Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solutions for the systems design. Participates in setting technical direction in conjunction with the architecture, data base, and infrastructure groups. 

Provides highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives.

Migrates legacy, dated application technologies to current technologies.

Continually looks for opportunities to improve developer productivity and the overall change management process

Recommends, and provides guidance, in the areas of application performance and tuning

Works closely with customers to identify and specify complex requirements and processes for diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies, tools, etc.

Qualifications:

Ability to easily work on and move between multiple projects at any given time.

Requires excellent communication skills, analytic ability, strong judgment and the ability to work directly with customers and IT management and staff.

Requires in depth knowledge of customer area’s functions and systems, and application development technological alternatives.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

College degree Computer Science, or other related field preferred.

7+ years of experience in application development.

C#, VB .NET, ASP.NET, HTML,CSS, XML, MVC, Angular and SQLServer required.

JavaScript, AJAX, Jquery, and Bootstrap preferred.
