key isa mainframe developer that knows how to movedata b/w DB2 and AWS

Theteam would like to bring in for interview anycandidates that have AWS Servicesand Mainframe development experiences. Weare looking for someone that can help us do 60-65 % HOST (MainframeCOBOL) and35-40% AWS. 

 What AWS skills areimportant? Typical AWS Services stack with no highlyspecialized AWS products.Things like ECR, S3, Lambda, ang Glue. Java – nice tohave Python – nice tohave With Mainframe, COBOL is understood, what else isexpected? Strongenterprise DB2 background, stored procedures, batch processing.JCL. This isfor the Retail Business, which is data intensive and the busiestorganization.There is a lot of exporting out of Mainframe and importing intoAWS. There is alot of exporting out of AWS and importing into Mainframe. Clientplans to getdata out of AWS and into a Data Lake in the next 2 years. They havecommittedto their Mainframe systems in Retail and this is part of themodernizationeffort.

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

•Provides expert level system analysis, design, development,implementation, andtesting of data-centric applications in a Mainframeenvironment. Integratesthird party data as needed.

•Thoroughly understands and applies agile softwaredevelopment methodologies –Kanban in particular.

•Translates technical specifications, and/or logical andphysical design intocode for new or enhancement projects (for internal orexternal clients).

•Develops code that reuses subroutines or objects, is wellstructured, includessufficient comments, and is easy to maintain.

•Writes programs, ad hoc queries, and reports.

•Participates in design, code, and test inspectionsthroughout life cycle toidentify issues and ensure methodology compliance.

•Writes the system/technical portion of assigneddeliverables. Assists technicalteam members with the system/technical portionof their deliverables, e.g.,systems testers, test plans. On small teams, thedeveloper may write theseitems.

•Performs unit testing and writes appropriate unit testplans to ensurerequirements are satisfied. Assists in integration, systems,acceptance, andother related testing as needed
