- Work closely with development and architecture teams to properly engineer effective database solutions that ensure reliability, quality, and scalability.
- Perform database administration tasks in QA and development environments, create database objects (tables, indexes, views, packages, etc.), define security policies, create and maintain SQL/PL-SQL and shell scripts to automate deployment tasks.
- Resolve complex incidents (e.g., Data issues, performance tuning, security)
- Create and maintain roles and privileges
- Provide capacity projections and monitor space utilization
- Monitor Oracle processes and logs for any anomalies, provide corrective actions as necessary
- Provide assistance to developers for resolving technical Oracle issues, document and implement Oracle best practices.
- Interface with developers regarding physical database design decisions and PL/SQL coding design
- Act as point of contact for all database-related issues and take ownership of the relationship with Optum Managed Services Oracle DBA team.
- Support all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Support the data governance processes
- Review and enforce coding standards
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- Solid knowledge of Oracle 19c/12c and technical database concepts, such as: logical relational data modeling, physical data modelling, tuning large instances, resource management, data replication and backup/recovery
Techniques:
- Expert knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Experience with ORACLE 19C RAC Exadata
- Experience with database and system maintenance procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex technical problems
- Proficiency in Oracle RDBMS database management in Linux
- Command administering database security, data recovery, performance monitoring and tuning
