JOB DETAIL

As a critical member of the DPSCD’s Technology Infrastructure Team, the IT Project Manager is responsible for defining, planning, tracking, and managing technology related projects from concept to completion. This includes focusing on the needs and expectations of internal and external clients, initiating needs assessments and root-cause analysis, identifying, and allocating resources and managing project schedules. The Project Manager is an assertive, collaborative, and highly organized IT professional who understands district policies and procedures as well as the strategic direction of the district.

Requirements:

 PMP Certified

 Minimum 3 Years' Experience IT Infrastructure Projects

•     Strong communication skills and ability to engage and present information across stakeholder groups.

•     Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience.

•     Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

•     Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.

•     Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.

 

Responsibilities:

1.    Assist with the development and implementation of the department operational plan, including goals and objectives with measurable outcomes, optimizing project management to support the District’s strategic plan.

2.    Develop and manage all phases of the IT project from project initiation to closure.

3.    Establish and obtain buy-in for project charter.

4.    Conduct effective project kick-offs and closure meetings.

5.    Define the project management process, standards, deliverables, and operational cadence necessary to ensure consistency throughout project.

6.    Manage project scope and deliverables through a structured change management process to ensure projects are complete and meet expectations.

7.    Develop and maintain project schedules and task details by utilizing a district-wide project management solution and tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and budget forecasting.

8.    Responsible for holding stakeholders accountable for tasks, deliverables and adherence to project timelines ensuring projects stay on-track.

9.    Produce high quality project plans, reports, presentations and data displays for review and analysis by District stakeholders.

10.   Coordinate and facilitate engaging stakeholder meetings to share pertinent information, project status and timelines/upcoming deadlines for transparency, accountability, and real-time feedback.

11.   Develop, implement, and maintain data and reporting systems to provide real-time displays of pertinent information related to project management.

12.   Lead the development of department Standard Operating Procedures documentation, training, and communication.

13.   Define and manage the quality assurance process(es) to ensure high level delivery of service and achievement of department objectives and key results.

14.   Build and maintain effective relationships across the district and with all district stakeholders.

15.   Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
