JOB DETAIL

As the Data Management and Governance Lead within the LCG Metrics and Data Governance department you will be responsible for the management and governance of data that is sourced into shared data platforms that are used across LCG. This includes analysis of requested data feeds and datasets, the rationalization of the data (future and current) that we source and store, and the active documentation within our data catalog / system dictionary. In addition, you will be responsible for the governance of centrally managed datasets, including cataloging attributes, upstream systems and downstream consumers, defining and monitoring data quality controls, managing data related issues, managing coordination and relation with data providers and consumers. Lastly, you will be responsible for ensuring that data is sourced, used, archived, and disposed of according to the firm’s Data Policy by working closely with our business clients, system / platform owners, and Data Governance offices and committees.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• To work with data consumers and a team of data analysts / business analyst to understand and document data requirements.

• To work as liaison between consumers and data developers to ensure data solutions are developed per firm standards and policies.

• To define and implement standards for data usage and distribution.

• To document data sourcing and usage details in approved Data Cataloguing

tools.

• To define and monitor data Duality Controls using firm approved tools.

• To develop and implement data governance processes in-line with Data Policy.

• To design data reports and dashboards to help tracker and monitor Data

Governance metrics.

• To ensure that proper controls are established for encrypting, masking, and

protecting sensitive data.

Qualifications -

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems,

Information Technology, or related field required with 5+ years of relevant

experience in data management and analytics

• Experience with data cataloguing tools like Collibra.

• Experience with data quality tools like Owl / Collibra DQ

• Experience in highly complex data environments with large data volumes.

• SQL / PLSQL experience with the ability to write ad-hoc and complex queries to

perform data analysis

• Experience with the development of data analytics and visualizations using

Tableau and/or Cognos a plus.

• Experience with data on Cloud solutions (Snowflake) will be a plus

• An understanding of E-R data models (conceptual, logical, and physical)

• Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret

customer business requirements and translate them into technical designs and

solutions

• Experience with Agile development methodologies

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Capable of collaborating

effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions, roles and

able to interact effectively with all levels.

• Self-starter. Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with minimal

supervision. Can manage a complex ever-changing priority list and resolve

conflicts to competing priorities.

• Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to identify where focus is needed and bring

clarity to business objectives, requirements, and priorities.
