Scope of Work or Job Duties of Contractor (as appropriate for role):

Principal tech stack : Javascript, HTML5, CSS, ReactJS

Responsibilities

• Work closely with UX designers, web developers and other team members to deliver

usable, useful, desirable, and seamless user experiences.

• Participate in all aspects of an Agile development process employing a Scrum

methodology to rapidly deliver value.

• Build and maintain efficient, readable, reusable, testable, secure and reliable code that

may cross multiple technologies and platforms.

• Contribute to the architecture design of custom software applications. Work closely with

peers to design & develop features that fulfill functional and non-functional requirements.

• Ensure applications meet functional, technical and security requirements including OSU

Digital Accessibility Standards and Information Security Control Requirements

• Work to ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the

applications

• Apply functional knowledge & experience of multi-tier computer software development,

consuming APIs for development of user interface.

• Participate in the design process as a consultant on technical implementation options.

• Use methods such as CI/CD to ensure code quality, organization, and automation

• Proactively test for and identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these

problems

• Supports current applications, monitors application performance and contributes to a culture

of continuous improvement of software infrastructure and its components.

• Works in a cohesive team environment and follows best practices of software development

to collaborate in a multi member project setting.

• Develop and maintain project documentation.

Skills

Required

• 4+ years of working experience in development of software and user interfaces.

• Proficient in developing different modalities of user interface with a good knowledge of

its ecosystems.

• Strong understanding and working experience of front-end coding and development

technologies like Javascript, HTML5, CSS, ReactJS, ES6

• Ability to translate designs / mockups / wireframes into web applications using front end

technologies

• Understanding of various design and architectural patterns to develop behind a scalable

software application

• Hands on experience with building user interface by consuming backend web services /

REST API

• Ability to create custom UI modules / components that can span across multiple software

projects.

• Experience coding user interface meeting accessibility standards like WAI, A11y

• Experience implementing unit tests routinely in coded features

• Facility with code versioning tools, such as Git

• Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively and effectively

• Demonstrated ability to Work with multiple cross functional teams

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

• ReactJS (highly preferred)

• Experience with Linux/Unix, Containers, Kubernetes for deployment of webapps

• Familiarity with build tools such as npm, yarn

• Skill developing UIs that meet digital accessibility requirements for diverse audiences

including screen-reader users

Nice to have :

• Flutter

• Xcode, Swift

• Kotlin

• Knowledge of object-oriented programming

• Knowledge of databases like MySQL, SQL server
