JOB DETAIL

Immediate openings for a Cyber Security – Mid-level to work in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Working on CDC's Cloud Modernization Project. Project is a 3 year engagement. This will be phase 1 focusing on Application Portfolio Rationalization and how to migrate applications to the cloud.


Job Description: 

The Cloud Advisory Consultant is responsible for performing application rationalization and cloud assessment for a 800+ application portfolio at a U.S. Federal Agency. The scope of this effort includes collaborating with the client to define the cloud assessment process, planning and conducting cloud assessments with the client, collaborating with the team to determine application disposition and cloud suitability, assisting with cloud migration planning, and developing the cloud advisory reports.

 

The Cloud Advisory Consultant requires experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud environments, Java and/or .Net, web application full stack, system integration using APIs, exceptional troubleshooting skill and strong communication skills, and would ideally have some familiarity with the healthcare industry and health IT. The role is responsible for working with a diverse set of stakeholders to review and assess the possible cloud modernization options

 

Job responsibilities include:

Efficiently/effectively defines and conducts a cloud assessment process

Effective communication of technical problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Working collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders

Reading and comprehending application capabilities to assess technology migration needs

Assessing and translating technical documentation into strengths and constraints for technology migration

 

Technical experience:   

Bachelor’s and 5+ years of related experience

Experience with either or both:

Java software development: Java 1.8+, JEE, JSP, Servlets, Struts 2, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JDBC, Apache Commons Libraries

ASP.NET MVC, C#, F#, VB.Net,

 

Familiar with either or both:

Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Rancher, Databricks, Azure SQL, Databricks Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, security framework

AWS Cloud, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, DynamoDB, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Lake Formation, Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Elastic Container Service (EC2), DocumentDB, Amazon Simple Email Service (SES), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), ElastiCache

 

Expertise in Azure DevOps pipeline, Azure Repos, code review and testing tools

Expertise in Cloud integration & data processing frameworks

Experience of modern frontend web user interface frameworks

Experience of common software and system security practices

Web development experience: JQuery, JQuery UI, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React

Skills and experience with SQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle Weblogic, Apache Tomcat, IIS, and GitHub

Experience working in Agile team environment

Familiarity with health IT concepts, terminology and standards (e.g., HL7 v2.x, CDA and/or FHIR, Rhapsody, etc.)

Familiarity with Linux, Azure pipelines, Microservices, Rancher

Microsoft Certified “Azure Solutions Architect Expert” and/or “AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional” preferred
