I have an opportunity to bring in a business analyst to gather requirements on several projects. We have several projects that need definition so we can put estimates together and figure out a timeline. We will potentially be looking for a developer consultant to do the coding as well since my team is tied up but they would be needed after the BA has started. Some of the projects we have are going to get pretty complex so we need someone with more experience.
Below are the main responsibilities for the role:
Food/Grocery/Retail or Warehouse would be a huge plus. But if that filters the field down to zero, I am willing to look candidates without experience on those areas.
This role would be more onsite with limited remote since most of this is meeting with users and having face to face will be better.
Our longtime client, an Employer of Choice in New England, is seeking a stellar Business Analyst that can help with gathering requirements on several projects. The work for this position will help define project needs and build estimates together for defining timelines.
The position is onsite at their office in Springfield MA. This is 6-month contract with possible extensions if necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Meet with areas of business to define requirements for several systems to create SOW’s.
• Gain approval of SOW’s from business stakeholders.
• Review requirements with development team so they can define technical requirements and time estimates
• Develop and maintain understanding of customer workflows and business needs to support.
• Deliver precise functional specifications to include functional hierarchy, workflow, business rules, interface design and definitions, outstanding issues, data analysis, and data mapping to clients and development staff.
• Be responsible for direct interaction with users including, but not limited to, eliciting comprehensive business requirements and use cases and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Conduct gap analysis between application and stated customer requirements and collaborate with Architects and Developers to estimate project impact.
• Work with Development, QA, and Production Support teams to communicate, verify, and test the desired functionality changes.
Skills and Experience:
• Understanding of business analysis principles, processes, and techniques.
• Ability to develop and prepare use cases, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
• Ability to understand and represent the needs of the end user in a software development environment.
• Strong consultative and advisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
• Food/Grocery/Retail or Warehouse is a major plus
• Coding experience in C#/SQL/Web Development is a plus
