JOB DETAIL

The precise nature of activities will depend on the priorities & work during the time of the placement, to be agreed upon. However, the responsibilities and tasks are likely to include the following:

 

  • Directly supporting and managing public affairs and research, strategy, engagement, and communication programs, including but not limited to energy policies, economy, climate change, sustainability, technology, competition as well as related specific issues.
  • Create high-quality written materials - plans, documents, and presentations - with adequate secondary research input and proactive advisory inputs, in the most time-efficient manner.
  • Identifying and flagging policy challenges and opportunities and providing related strategic insights.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and analysis of policy developments likely to impact TotalEnergies.
  • Scanning the Indian energy market and producing weekly reports comprised of strategic important updates.
  • Support in drafting thought leadership positioning notes.
  • Preparation of materials for meetings, events, and other stakeholders/media engagement activities.


 

About Yourself :

  • Previous experience in public affairs, either as a consultant, in-house corporate resource, or in energy think tanks, energy-related associations, or private firms leading work related to energy sectors or policy areas outlined.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - a positive approach with a self-learning attitude.
  • Excellent analytical and written skills.
  • A good understanding of the energy policy landscape.
  • Strong command over Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), additional skills are a plus.


 

What you should have :

  • Understands the objectives and goals of the company & its business strategies and plans. Thoroughly understands the Indian Government structure as well as the political and policy-making process.
  • The individual must be good at reading the political & legislative environment in the country and should be able to identify emerging issues and challenges which affect the companys profitability and competitive position.
  • Knowledge of Indias energy policy, climate change, and sustainability are highly desirable. This includes familiarity with relevant Departments and Ministries, including MoPNG, MNRE, MoP, PNGRB, PPAC, Commerce, Finance, Niti Aayog, TERI, and others; as well as the ability to provide strategic insights to leadership on key interactions with relevant stakeholders in this field regarding policy development.
