JOB DETAIL

  • One who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL/Percona instances.
  • One should also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database on both technologies (MySQL/Percona).
  • One should also be responsible for performing migrations (Both in-place and side-by-side).
  • One should have experience on working with different MySQL/Percona versions.
  • One should also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.
  • Provision MySQL/Percona instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations.
  • One should have experience on working on clustered environments like INNODB, NDB &XtraDB Cluster .
  • Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB ,MyISAM , Xtradb&TokuDB.
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security.
  • Analyze, solve and troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Prioritize daily missions/cases and manage critical issues & situations.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide root cause analysis for outages when appropriate.
  • Strong proficiency in MySQL &Percona db technologies database management
  • Experience on the replication concepts (Master- slave & Master-Master) in MySQL/Percona.
  • Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL/Percona.
  • Knowledge of limitations in MySQL/Percona and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
  • Knowledge on MySQL utilities and tools like event scheduler, MySQL Workbench, MEM (MySQL Enterprise Monitor) etc.
  • Experience on other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc would be an ad-on advantage.
