We are looking for Solution Architects to join our team. The successful candidate is an experienced Solution Architect who can be the technical lead on a project team, including refining requirements, researching options, designing the solution, and verifying the technical implementation against the design. This position requires self-motivation and expertise, as well as the ability to learn a new business process, create a new product to implement the process, think outside of the box, and abide by security and confidentiality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting an evaluation of the computer system architecture with an emphasis on the design.
- Translates a business need into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution.
- Creating and maintaining or enhancing procedures, processes, and designs for computer systems.
- Responsible for Solution Architecture activities that take place during requirements gathering, conceptual design, solution design, development, documentation, and implementation
- Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with client IT standards for architecture, including the implementation of specific solutions for public or private cloud platforms, integration with other systems and the external interfaces
- Lead creation of conceptual and logical specifications for all layers of product solution (people, process, technology, and information) through collaboration with stakeholders and the business, and enterprise, application, security and infrastructure architects.
- Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant with client policies. Analytically and systematically evaluates problems of workflows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action to meet compliance policies
- Responsible for collaborating with enterprise architecture to develop enterprise artifacts for reuse by subsequent projects
Requirements and skills:
- Architects with approximately 5 -10+ years of Architect level experience. Not looking for a tactical developer or administrator, rather looking for someone in a Design role. This is a Solution Architect with a balance of application and infrastructure. No cloud experience is needed and not looking for a technical engineer type.
- Experience working in large organizations. Design experience as it pertains to infrastructure and enterprise solution engagements. VMWare, Citrix, Security, Firewalls/Switches etc. How all the pieces work together as a foundation for a delivered solution.
- Looking for someone that can interact with multiple teams, assess Inf the needs and design a solution.
- Must be strong enough to come in with limited direction and be up to speed in a couple weeks.
- 10+ years of technical experience in at least two IT disciplines. Examples: client/server environment, data networking, middleware, cloud, storage, virtualization, data management, or infrastructure., and 5 years of experience in solution architecture
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
- Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of system designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations
- Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring on IT system designs, development, and frameworks, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options to leads and clients
- Experience defining a variety of solution types, such as new system builds, legacy enhancements, build vs. buy analysis, integrating COTS software packages, Software as a Service or Platform as a Service as components of the solution
- Expert collaborator with business and technical colleagues, adept at building rapport
- Ability to multitask while adapting to changing priorities
- Able to produce clear documentation at a technical and business level
- Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
