QAD is seeking a Software Engineer II, Progress 4GL who will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to establish appropriate action. Provides problem resolutions to the reported defects in the form of problem analysis, coding and testing as per Maintenance support procedures and practices. Build enhancements to existing QAD software products in line with the functional specifications provided.
What You ll Do:
- Examination and fixing of assigned customer incidents related to QAD core products post training
- Translate high level business analysis into physical code. Maintain defined quality standards and procedures
- Write Unit and System test plans/specifications and perform testing
- Code review (self peer) to ensure conformance to quality standards and specifications
- Analyze, design, develops, test, troubleshoot and debug enhancements to the product
- Participate in the Patch Release activities
Qualifications
- IT background (BE, B.Sc IT, M.Sc, BCA, MCA) or Non IT background with appropriate certification. Cleared your graduation in the first attempt
- IT skills like .NET, Java, OOPS concepts.
- Good understanding of Progress 4GL
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix, RDBMS is mandatory
- Functional and general concept of Supply chain and / or ERP is good to have
- Good spoken written English skills
- Experience of 4+ yrs with Progress language and QAD products
- Basic understanding of client server and API architecture
- Basic understanding of XML
- Working knowledge of any one Development IDE - Visual Studio,OpenEdge Architect,Spring Tool,Eclipse
- Basic knowledge of any one software source control like Git,CVS,SVN,VSTS)
- Preferred basic knowledge of any one build tools like Jenkins,Maven,Gradle,Bamboo
