JOB DETAIL

Needs a sr. level support person

100 % technical DevOps interview - will be deep dive into autoscaling, manifest files, etc.  How to maintain and scale.

Project is in cloud space (private cloud) - Cloud best practices in data center. 

Kubernetes is required - need to answer basic questions – autoscaling, etc. Kubernetes cert would just be a home run!

Using BPM (Business Rules Engine) – Camunda is where the rules are currently. 

They will be launching Pega Cloud - Pega is good, or any other BPM rules experience would be a bonus. 

They maintain the Kubernetes rules that exist in the BPM system.  Note:  He’s really interested in people with Pega since they are moving that direction, but this may be a separate position.

Wants someone who can help investigate behavior of the application and are self-starting and able to give them options.

For example – dev environment is down – can someone take a look and fix it?  What actions do we need to take to fix things, etc.

Identify situation and not wait for someone else to fix things.

 

Required Skills

Operations experience – what on-call and operations in IT looks like.

Kubernetes – advanced knowledge – Kubernetes certification would be a home run

Telemetry tools:  splunk, data dog, app dynamics, Dynatrace, etc. (they use Splunk and AppDynamics)

Java or Python would be a huge plus!

 

On-Call:  Once every 6-7 weeks.  Only primary rotation.  Not a secondary in place.  Right now this is for a newer application and traffic is still ramping up.

 

Project:  Omni Channel back office – this is a sales channel – spectrum.com, spectrummobile.com, spectrum mobile app (any time you order or upgrade your spectrum app on your phone)

This channel enables customers to place orders without talking to an agent.

Support a proactive release readiness process ensuring all aspects environment supportability.
Leverage CI/CD tools and DevOps principles.
Deep involvement in our development sprints.
Champion code deployment processes as required.
Provide active support for IT Ordering systems during code releases.
Ensure appropriate documentation updates for each release.
Collaborate with other team members located in various locations, inside and outside the United States, to support the daily online ordering operations in a 24x7 work environment
5+ years in a development support, DevOps, senior systems or application support specialist, or equivalent position in a large IT organization.
