Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or business-related disciplines AND 3 years of relevant experience required
• Candidate must have strong experience in data technology domain.
• Strong foundation in business and IT applications and technology systems development lifecycle, and data integration best practices to influence business and IT projects.
• Solid understanding of data architectural concepts and patterns – e.g., data integration architectures experience developing applications and/or databases.
• Proficiency with exploring and querying databases including the SQL coding language.
• Skilled in deploying, configuring, and testing cloud application and data services. Once deployed, become the technical subject matter expert, and lead and train cloud operations personnel.
• Hands on experience working with on-premises, cloud (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS), hybrid models and building secure applications with complex data integration and system integration patterns.
• Experience working with application developers, engineers, and designers to deliver innovative technology solutions using AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, and/or Oracle OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) cloud services.
• Sound understanding of data protection and data quality best practices and solutions for cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Hands-on experience in data modeling and database design.
• Experienced or conversant in emerging tools like NoSQL databases and unstructured data stores.
• Experience working with analytics project teams.
• Experience integrating disparate data sources (including internal and external data) using data transformation technologies, e.g., SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and/or related technologies including cloud services.
• Conversant in emerging technologies and practices, e.g., cloud computing components and data services in Azure and/or AWS or other cloud providers.
• Conversant in data management concepts and practices, e.g., data stewardship, master data management, data quality, data cataloging.
• Experience in evaluating technology and establishing standard designs.
• Experience with one or more scripting or programming languages such as shell script, Perl, Ruby, Python, or PowerShell.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be comfortable and skilled at selling new processes and technologies. Must be able to communicate designs and give persuasive presentations. Must be able to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Work Experience and Technical Skills
• Experience with database storage technologies for semi-structured data (e.g., JSON) and unstructured data (e.g., documents).

Core Responsibilities
• This is a Junior Data Architecture position focused on improving the utilization of existing technologies and introducing new technologies to enhance the management, protection, and integration of data assets in the company. It involves collaboration between various IT groups, the execution of technology proofs of concept (POCs) and pilots; the development of reference architectures and playbooks; and the development of content to transition support to operations run teams.
• Areas of focus include technologies to support data cataloging, data modeling, data quality, master data management, sensitive data classification and protection, and data integration in a hybrid (on-premises and cloud) environment.
• Provide guidance and conduct architectural, configuration, solution, and quality reviews. Help coordinate with internal IT groups and other organizations, including vendors, to ensure standards are followed and issues addressed. Review and ensure major architectural designs align with IT objectives, industry standards and are flexible, and cost-effective.
• Perform testing and problem determination for new components, working closely with vendors.
• Share expertise ensuring that teams are continuously improving and learning together to meet current and future IT engineering and architecture needs.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Cyber Security, Network Systems and peer IT groups for planning, design package review and integration of IT deliverables into projects.
• Strong desire and initiative to lead and drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly and champion new concepts.
• Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
