We are seeking a Data Engineer to act as a key technical leader in our organization. The Engineering and IT department is currently in the process of expanding its data engineering platform to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities of our enterprise. Technology accelerates process transformation and business growth for our clients and business partners. To achieve business success, the Engineering team uses leading edge technology, innovative thinking and agile processes. One of the key priorities is driving business action through connected data. We leverage a big data platform based on AWS. As a Data Engineer, you will be expected to participate in the collaborative concept definition, architectural refinement, software design and creation of solutions that support the strategic technology needs that best support the client. This person should be comfortable working within a technical capacity across several functional sectors including core development on platform, data processing and report generation. In addition to this process, this person will be responsible for using Big Data, Python, AWS, Alteryx, and other tools to build REST API pipelines to streamline data into our PostgreSQL databases.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  
•    Design, develop, manage, and support job processes to meet data platform service levels
•    Build data pipelines to extract, clean, and transform data sourcing from REST APIs, other databases, and the web using python, Alteryx or other tools
•    Create and maintain database objects and produce comprehensive documentation of all developed objects within the repositories
•    Develop processes for optimizing database security
•    Set and maintain database standards
•    Recommend and implement emerging database technologies
•    Create automation for repeating database tasks
•    Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to deliver on medium to large business initiatives
•    Develop data models and documentation to ensure that the data objects provided are completely and accurately represented
•    Advise on best practices of data engineering organization
•    Work with stakeholders, leadership, and TPMs throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data and other external data to drive business solutions
•    Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy, performing QA processes at multiple stages throughout
 
Knowledge/Skills
  
•    Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
•    Experience designing, building, and operating cloud services within an Organization, as a Systems Integrator or as a Service Provider
•    Demonstrated analytical and technical skills
•    Ability to research, plan, organize, lead, and implement new processes or technology
•    Process mindset with experience creating, documenting, and implementing standard processes
•    Strong knowledge of Big Data, PostgreSQL, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms
•    Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
•    Ability to analyze and comprehend complex data and data environments
