• Identifies business needs for data and translates requirements into specifications for report development.
• Evaluates data gathered from multiple sources and proposes new ways to streamline data recording and custom reporting.
• Leads preparation and analysis of internal and external reports through gathering, analyzing and summarizing data and information.
• Develops and validates queries through SQL for the successful extraction of appropriate data.
• Ensures accuracy to maintain the high quality and integrity of information, data and databases.

Qualifications

• Data analyst or data analytics graduate research experience.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel/Access VBA.
• Intermediate Advanced SQL.
• Proficient in data cleansing, validation, manipulation and modeling to build custom reporting.
• Strong understanding and ability to transform and integrate existing datasets.
• Familiarity with analytic algorithms, statistical analysis, and forecasting.
• Fluency in at least one statistical software package such as SAS, SPSS, R, Stata.
• Familiarity with Power BI and Power Query.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure is preferred.
• M.S. or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.
• Eligible to work in the U.S..

• Notes:

  6-7 railroads report data

  Report data to members, media, wall street etc

  3 year data modernization project – now leveraging powerbi and azure and api management

  Looking for someone more technical than the economist who can move to more modern platform

  Should have familiarity with APIs and how to handle push and pull data; standardize for data integrity

   

  Use SQL, SAS (need some statistical analysis), PowerBI

  Power Platform experience (PowerBI, Power Automate, Power Aps) would be helpful because they haven’t brought that in yet
