As a Power BI Technical Specialist, you will be involved in consolidating and reporting data from multiple databases using Power BI. You would be involved in integration with multiple data sources, building reports & dashboards and providing appropriate row level data security. You would be working with a team of developers fostering a culture of support and collaboration.
You will contribute to the role by:
- Communicate with customer, understand and analyze Business requirements and deliver end to end BI solution as per agreed timelines.
- Create Power BI semantic layer, design data model and build reports & dashboards.
- Develop and/or Fix PowerBI reports based on the requests.
- Resolve data issues, security and access requests for various dashboards
- Perform ad hoc data query analysis to identify data gaps and close the same with long term fix as necessary.
Skills required to contribute:
7-9 years of Data visualization experience with 6+ years in Power BI
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive experience in Power BI – Power BI Desktop, Power BI service, workspace, AI/ML functionality within Power BI etc. including creating reports, dashboards, prompts, filters, calculated Fields, customized calculations using DAX statements, conditions, data blending, actions, Hierarchies as well as setting up security via security groups and row level security. Good exposure to various visualizations using Slicers, Lines, Pies, Histograms, Maps, Scatter, Bullets, Heat Maps, Tree maps, etc. as well as custom visual development. Good experience in publishing & scheduling reports.
- Strong expertise in Crafting intuitive and interactive reports and dashboards for data driven decisions by business users across multiple data sources like Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Cloud databases, SAP HANA, Hadoop etc.
- Good experience in Performance Monitoring, fine-tuning and optimization of dashboards.
- Advance SQL knowledge and hands on experience on complex queries writing using Analytical functions, Troubleshooting, problem solving and performance tuning of SQL queries accessing data warehouse
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present insights and story line to business users.
- Exposure to Cloud analytics landscape i.e. Snowflake, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery etc. is beneficial.
- Working experience in any ETL tool like SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory (ADF), ODI, Matillion, FiveTran is needed.
- Good experience in other visualization tools like OBIEE, OAC, Tableau, Qlik, SSRS etc.
- Well versed with Waterfall, Agile, Scrum and similar project delivery methodologies.
- Power BI certification (DA 100 or PL 300) is must.
