We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as an ETL Developer. This individual will directly supporting the design, development, and integration of custom ETL code into Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server DB's. The ETL Developer will be responsible for complex design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of the process of extracting, transforming and loading data from disparate application systems into a production database, as well as reporting and other database processing needs.
- Work fully remotely from anywhere in Canada or the United States!
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain code for ETL, reports and other needs.
- Versioning and ETL changes as per the requirements, experience with a variety of transformations like Aggregate, Derived Column, Conditional Split and Data Conversion, Transaction, Checkpoints, SSIS Package Management, Debugging, Error handling and logging, SSIS Package deployment etc
- Design and develop ETL using SSIS/ADF from heterogeneous data sources.
- Create/Modify complex and large queries, writing/modifying stored procedures, functions, implementing error handling logic, performance tuning and query optimization, bug fixing, data auditing, SSIS package creation/modification and Production Job monitoring.
- Strong concepts of Data Warehousing, strategies for ETL, identifying metrics, dimensions, hierarchies, and design dimensional schema (Star, Snowflake) and implementing slowly changing dimension etc.
- Work closely with different teams for manual processes as well as resolving issues.
- Maintain proficiency in a variety of computer programming languages, such as SQL, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting, in order to successfully complete the tasks of the role.
- Update and maintain Entity Relational Diagrams as required.
- Provide documentation of new processes, as well as update and maintain existing documentation as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Key Skills area:
- Experience on Microsoft Azure cloud services used like Storage services, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Virtual Machines, App Service, Azure Active Directory, Azure Scheduler etc.
Other skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience programming using PL/SQL.
- Experience using Oracle Transactional Database.
- Any Azure Synapse Link for SQL Server experience is nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 2-3 years Data Warehousing/ETL experience, using SSIS.
- Hands-on experience with gathering business requirements, documenting the reporting and analysis specifications, designing technical architecture, installing and configuring all components of an ETL tool, creating complex mappings, sessions, and workflows. Demonstrates sound understanding of development methodology.
- Demonstrates strong experience writing SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix Shell scripts.
- Experience developing using Oracle APEX
- Proficient in a variety of computer programming languages, such as SQL, PL/SQL, Unix shell Scripting, to successfully complete the tasks of the role.
- In depth knowledge of relational database systems.
