JOB DETAIL

Charter islooking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team and help usbuild automation and maintain security and compliance solutions for the AWScloud solution for our eCommerce site, it’s infrastructure and securityproducts. As a member of the DevOps team, you’ll be working closely with thedevelopment, QA, and operations team members. You will be responsible for creatingcloud-based solutions and will need to be proficient in infrastructure andplatform design and management as well as application deployment automation.You will be responsible for designing, building, reviewing, testing, debugging,and troubleshooting clean pythonic code in a talented and highly collaborativeenvironment.

Charter has a centralized team in Denver that supports AEM. Aretransitioning product to AWS and have application in cloud, but have not hadtime to touch it as they are at the very beginning stages. This product isaround of 60% of revenue for Charter and will be very high visibility as thisrole will have an enterprise wide impact. Want someone who can learn quicklyand is a go getter.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and deploy scalable, highly available, secure, and fault tolerant systems on AWS for the development and test lifecycle of our eCommerce platform. 
  • Modify existing software in AWS to improve performance. 
  • Passion for solving challenging issues.
  • Promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve common goals. 
  • Examine data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve problems. 

Requirements:  

  • Demonstrated competency with the following AWS services: ECS, EC2, EBS, S3, VPC, Route53, ELB, IAM, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, SES, SMS, Lambda.
  • Proficient in Python functions and scripting techniques and tech stacks.
  • Knowledgeable with IaaS (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Full software development lifecycle experience.
  • Deep understanding of the Linux operating system and networking concepts.
  • Experience building scalable infrastructure in AWS.
  • Experience with one or more AWS SDKs and/or CLI.
  • Expertise in leveraging Automation / DevOps principles, experience with operational tools, and the ability to apply best practices for infrastructure and software deployment (Ansible / Puppet). 
  • Proficient with other DevOps tools such as GitLab
