Keys skills: Need a core Project Manager, should have experience upgradations on Mainframe/Cobol legacy systems with the technologies CICS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, should have agile methodologies and PM tools experience, Commercial Insurance is nice to have and the resource should have excellent communication skills.

Project Manager: manages and provides leadership for highly complex programs or projects. The role collaborates to define scope, requirements, project governance, design, testing, timeline, budget. The role requires exceptional communication skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships with team members, and other departments involved.

General Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Manages large-scale Cobol Upgrade Execution project:

• Track's project and program status and creates delivery roadmaps working in partnership with executive IT leadership and technical teams to ensure clear communication of the on-going development and implementation of all initiatives.

• Performs critical team resource management and performance management to ensure project objectives are delivered on-time and within budget.

• Executes on-going monitoring and continuous improvement plans to ensure team is executing with optimal efficiency.

• Serves as an overall leader and liaison between various business units, vendors, Information Systems, Information Security, and impacted business units.

• Adheres to, contributes toward, and mentor other project managers and scrum masters as needed and contributes to continual improvement. This includes adherence to budgeting, financial forecasting, cost accounting and project management standards across the program.

• Ensures all issues and risks are clearly monitored and managed across the entire program.

• Ensures adherence to overall program and project control point compliance.

• Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders on the account team and the client team.

Project Description:

• Client runs CICS and batch programs in an IBM z/OS mainframe environment (hosted by a third party) to support its insurance and TPA operations.

• Mainframe environment includes a significant number of COBOL programs as well as a mix of other technologies (CICS, DB2, VSAM, IMS).

• Client was using the IBM COBOL compiler version 4.2 and is running programs in production compiled in COBOL 4.2 as well as COBOL II and older versions - COBOL version 4.2 went end of life for support as of 4/30/2022.

• Client has completed an inventory assessment of the Mainframe environment with the help of a 3rd party vendor and has begun upgrade and testing work for a small subset of the programs which require remediation (i.e., upgrade to COBOL Version 6.3).

• Client is also starting work in upgrading the remaining, targeted set of programs to COBOL Version 6.3 (approximately 1650 programs remaining for upgrade following completion of remediation of the small set of programs currently being upgraded)

• Commercial insurance domain experience is a huge plus but not mandatory.
