JOB DETAIL

The client is looking for a LEAD, someone how has lead a Teradata to Snowflake database implementation in the past.  Someone who has just worked with Snowflake isn’t going to work.  Need someone who has hands on experience with a Teradata to Snowflake migration in the past!

 

Top Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in Snowflake, Data Modeling and Architecture
  • Understanding of Data Sharing in Snowflake
  • Experience in Performance Management in Snowflake
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years' experience in hands on experience in Data Modelling / Data Warehousing
  • At least 3 years' experience in Snowflake including experience in Cloning, Data Sharing, Search optimization etc
  • Working knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP ect.) 
  • Experience across Snowflake and Cloud-based databases on IAM & Role Management
  • Experience in Snowflake Data Sharing, Cloning, Data Exchange,DR replication features
  • Experience with GIT development, deployment, and support of data processes and procedures
  • Detailed understanding of AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake resources (e.g. S3, Glue, Blob, EC2, Containers, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux Windows environments
  • Experience with high volume data processing using Snowflake , Redshift, Databricks, and other relevant cloud technologies and designing solutions for reliability and performance at scale.
  • Experience with BI tool and Database integration

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Architect migration of data analytics environment from Teradata to Snowflake with performance and reliability.
  • Responsible for end-to-end data analytics design and architecture for Snowflake
  • Work on Data Modelling for both Snowflake and Teradata
  • Work on Snowflake optimizations at warehouse, database level
  • Setup, configure and deploy Snowflake (Databases , Warehouses, Roles etc)
  • Setup and monitor data shares, snow pipes for Snowflake projects
  • Implement Snowflake Cloud management frameworks that includes but is not limited to monitoring, alerting, and governance model, budgets and change management, cost optimization lifecycle, show-backs, and charge-backs
  • Work on Cloud Usage reporting to measure cloud cost related insights, metrics and KPIs
  • Ability to write complex SQL to analyse and troubleshoot data anomalies
  • Participate in Snowflake forecasting process; build and improve forecasts and explore trends in cloud spend using internal and external tools
