- Overall 7 years of IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Architect on Data & Analytics solutions.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in the Azure public cloud platform.
- Highly proficient in Azure Synapse and a strong understanding of database and data warehouse concepts
- Strong understanding of ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics SQL Pools, Databricks, Power BI, Azure security model, etc.
- Solid understanding of metadata management and data governance tools
- Well-versed with batch (extract) and streaming data loads.
- Ability to architect data solutions aligned with the strategic technology roadmap and emerging industry trends.
- Expert on data modelling, data access patterns, virtualization, and SQL.
- Knowledge of cost management, infrastructure planning, and disaster recovery.
- Experience working in migration projects, migrating from on-prem to Azure
- Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate thought leadership and ability to guide / mentor team members and create technical arti facts.
- Experience in creating Azure Data Factory pipelines leveraging data movement activities, data transformation activities like Data Flow, Stored Procedure, Custom Activity, Azure Functions, etc., and Control Flow Activities like web activity, lookup activity, etc.
- Experience with data integration through APIs, Web Services, SOAP, and/or REST services
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration and Agile tools and processes, such as Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models.
- Experience in large scale warehouse migration from on-prem to cloud is plus
- Experience in financial and pension industry is plus
- Microsoft Azure certifications are a plus
Responsibilities: Client is in an immediate need for a Data Architect with Azure data platform expertise. Initial focus will be on architecture design patterns and architecture development fora significant data platform modernization effort. Candidates must be design focused and adept at evaluating platform needs byunder standing existing and future data producers through to data consumption perspectives with the ability to provide sufficient technical detail to inform downstream build projects. The data architect will work closely with internal and external architects and data engineers along with key business (including highly technical) stakeholders to achieve goals.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with the business and technical teams to understand the overall requirements and be responsible for incorporating platform needs.
- Create a robust, extensible architecture to meet the business requirements
- Translate the business requirements into technical artifacts
- Research, analyze, and recommend technical tools and best practices that best meet business requirements
- Design end-to-end solutions along with data strategy, including standards, principles, data sources, storage, pipelines, data flow, and data security policies
- Collaborate with data engineers, infrastructure engineer, security specialists, and other stakeholders to execute the data strategy
- Perform data analysis to understand the relevant data sets
- Define the right security and access policies
- Define the right data distribution/consumption pattern for downstream systems and consumers
- Perform code reviews and ensure deliverables meet architecture standards
- Work with DevOps team to continually improve CI/CD processes
- Proactively identify the performance bottlenecks and propose corrective actions
- Design and develop reusable frameworks
- Advise on data analytics projects and product roadmap
- Work with product owner and scrum master to prioritize work for each sprint to meet project milestones and deadlines
- Closely monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the leadership teams on milestones, impediments, etc.
