JOB DETAIL

The role is will act as in-house legal counsel for WPP agencies in India and support the WPP Global Legal Team. You will provide legal expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts and policy, and also understand how to support commercial negotiations in line with best practice and group guidance. You will help ensure business practices, policies, and activities meet legal and regulatory requirements, and that are consistent with WPPs ethical and moral obligations to clients, shareholders, suppliers, and all external stakeholders. You will be responsible for supporting South Asia but maybe required to work across other WPP agencies in APAC from time to time. Assignments will change as WPP needs evolve, and flexibility is required. Travel may be required but will be agreed in advance.

What youll do:

  • Part of WPP Legal Team, advising on legal and compliance issues, and providing legal support for the business in South Asia
  • Advise client executives, business development leaders and other business partners on the legal and commercial aspects of a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements, including negotiating and drafting a range of contracts, creative content, IT supplier agreements, technology licences, data processing agreements and non-disclosure agreements, vendor contracts, talent agreements etc
  • Advise the business on risk, compliance, employment, IP matters and relevant aspects of law
  • Manage litigation and other legal disputes, including managing outside counsel as necessary
  • Advise on various other legal matters, including intellectual property, litigation, data privacy, compliance, and employment
  • Provide timely, practical, business-oriented legal advice
  • Actively develop and maintain strong working relationships with all business personnel in the region (including Internal Audit team, SOX team, Finance, etc)


What youll need:

  • Practicing law in a law firm, multinational corporation and/or public company
  • Experience in international business transactions, general corporate, commercial contracts (preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Negotiation and communication skills
