We need BA’s who have really strong expertise with PowerBI/report writing and data visualization within the financial banking sector. The financial industry experience is huge here, utilizing Power BI.

 

  • Migrating off of Excel and Click and move towards PowerBI – that’s the tool they will be using for report writing and data visualization.
  • Some change management that’ll come with this role – so many people used to using Excel for reports so need a person who can have other users buy into the PowerBI tool and showcase the importance and relief that a tool like PowerBI can provide.

Business Analyst duties: 

  • Assist in the design of business intelligence solutions for the organization
    • Identification of existing and new data sources by data categories
    • Work with technology vendor to design data integration layer; transformation and quality
    • Design enterprise data view including the use of operational data stores, data marts, sandboxes, unstructured data and data warehouse
    • Design decision support tools including data analytics, and information delivery, and standard tools (PowerBI)
    • Assist the business end user with reporting design, ad hoc queries, interactive dashboards, automation
  • Work with business users to identify what data is needed to answer their questions
    • Bring data together, run BI queries and create data visualizations, reports and dashboards to help their business colleagues extract meaning from the data sets being analyzed
    • Assemble and study organizational information, such as financial, treasury, credit reports.
    • Provide reports through office applications to improve business processes.
  • Collaborating with team members for the purpose of collecting data
  • Analyzing business requirements and processes and recommending them to the management and executives for implementation
  • Creating and maintaining documentation that includes the design, requirements and user manuals for the organization
  • Identifying the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability
  • Design and develop PowerBI reports and dashboards as per business requirements
  • Develop, format, and communicate insights from the data for financial and operational reports
  • Responsible for monthly KPI reporting for the business Maintain documentation and report updates as business rules and structure evolves
  • Determine the complexity of business reporting, analytics and dashboard needs
  • Transition reporting form legacy tools like excel, Qlik to Power BI
  • Serve as a liaison between end user community and back office IT service provider
  • Develop reporting service capability / catalog for functional areas
  • Develop a team to serve end user community
