The Business Technical Operations Team at Medtronic is a dynamic and results-driven group of professionals who are responsible for managing the company's global integrated planning application. This team works collaboratively to ensure that Medtronic's collaborative planning operations across all business units and global regions runs smoothly and efficiently. The team provides strategic insights and data-driven solutions that help Medtronic achieve our business objectives. With a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, the Business Operations Team is dedicated to delivering high-quality results that drive business success.

The Business Technical Ops. Team manages business-critical data needed to drive data-driven decisions and improves our ability to serve our patients. We are looking for a Lead Data QA Engineer to own the end-to-end data automation between our many planning systems, develop and own the data quality process, and act as lead to investigate complex data quality issues.

You'll use your analytical, research and investigative skills to:

  • A data geek with enviable SQL skills and a passionate sense of ownership
  • A proficient programmer in python who is comfortable with developing scripts that include database access, API interaction, unit testing, end-to-end testing automation, monitoring pipelines
  • A self-starter who enjoys working in a small, rapidly changing, fast paced environment
  • Confident enough to course correct a process or team when required
  • Methodical, executing through several approaches to determine the best fit
  • Energized by learning even if outside the scope of day-to-day responsibilities
  • Comfortable working on several different tasks throughout your workday

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development for a data warehouse
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in development, maintenance, and enhancements of Informatica Mappings, Workflows, and processes
  • Proficient in programming against large data assets with a working knowledge of SQL
  • Expertise with integration technologies and processes
  • Hands-on experience or Knowledge about Airflow, or automated job scheduling tools.
  • Experience with API/REST, JSON
  • Experience working on an Agile Development team and delivering features incrementally.
  • Experience with Git repositories
  • Experience demonstrating work to peers and stakeholders for acceptance
  • Ability to multi-task, be adaptable, and nimble within a team environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Technology related field, or possess equivalent work experience

Preferred:

  • Experience developing in Python
  • Experience working with Pytest framework, or other testing frameworks
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) with strong preference towards AWS.
  • Experience in Database design practices
  • Experience building data automation pipelines
  • Familiarity with a variety of program languages, like Java, JavaScript, C/C++
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, JIRA or similar project tracking software.
  • Working knowledge of setting up builds and deployments
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux.
