Cyber Security Engineer, API Security

The API Security team within Cyber Security Org is chartered to facilitate enablement of secure defaults in applications & platform by building & integrating solutions along with providing security consulting to other teams.  

As an API security engineer, you will collaborate with software development teams to ensure security by design, security by default for the APIs. The job requires evaluating and integrating API security solutions to detect runtime vulnerabilities. The role requires interfacing with other business units so the candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

What are the top 3 skills required for this role? 1. threat modelling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development

2. OWASP Top 10, automating attacks, and securing APIs.

3. evaluating, deploying, and managing application security tools (e.g., DAST, SAST, IAST, WAF).

Preferred Skills:

• Strong programming and scripting experience in Python, BASH, Go, Java, JavaScript or similar.

• Experience using security testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, OWASP ZAP, etc.

• Participates in CTFs or actively contributes to the security community (e.g., exploitation development, maintaining/publishing security tools, blogging).

• Solid understanding of microservices and containers.

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

• Experience working in cloud platforms.
