10+ years of proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator in optimizing, monitoring, tuning, replication, and securing databases and database systems (on-prem required; additional cloud experience will be a good value-add).
10+ years of proven experience in supporting multiple LIVE critical high-performance and high-usage line of business database systems and large HADR databases (directly supporting 10+ database system setups with 2+ cluster nodes per system and 10TB+ database sizes with 100+ simultaneous users preferred).
10+ years of proven experience and knowledge in installing, configuring, and maintaining the entire Microsoft SQL Server Stack Suite (versions 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2022 etc.) with all its features (SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) at an infrastructure and database system level.
10+ years of proven experience in solving Database issues with Index fragmentation, CPU Bottleneck, I/O Bottleneck, DBCC checks, Optimization of Query, Detected and Resolved Locks and Deadlocks, Data Integrity, Index Tuning, Update Statistics, Partitioning, filegroups, Error, and Event Handling.
10+ years of proven experience on supporting HADR solutions, AlwaysOn setups, Windows Server Failover clusters, index rebuilds, CDC, TDE, maintenance plans, backups & restores, log shipping, mirroring, transactional ,snapshot and merge replication.
10+ years of proven experience in upkeep tasks like Installation, Configuration, Patches, Upgrades & Administration for SQL Servers in Clustered (Failover) & Non-Clustered Environments, hands on experience in configuring Clustering in Active-Active and Active-Passive nodes.
10+ years of experience in controlling the User Privileges, Monitoring the Security and Audit issues as per enterprise standards.
Strong understanding of Database Architecture & Modeling, indexing, and query execution plans and preferred experience in database object change impacts analysis.
Experience around evaluation and recommendations on the purchase and appropriate utilization and usage of monitoring, database performance tuning, optimization and management tools and technologies that support database systems, servers, metadata management, security tools and archival and recovery tools, data access etc. (e.g.: including but not limited to SolarWinds, Redgate, SQL Sentry, SQL Profiler, DB Engine Tuning Advisor etc.)
Strong experience in migrations and upgrades from old SQL versions to new versions on-prem and Azure cloud migration experience would be a plus.
Experience in Database Mail configuration and maintenance.
Has experience in prescribing infrastructure and network topology, hardware & resource configuration optimization (memory, CPU, SSD etc.) & better server architectures & enhancements, bandwidth considerations, site reliability, new server and infrastructure setups handling, CU, SP, Hotfix updates etc.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries. Knowledge of Live Query Statistics.
Database alert script configuration experience outside of products and tools (e.g.: database size increase, log size full, maintenance script etc. for SQL) would be a plus.
Knowledge of serverless and dedicated pools, networking, subnets, VPN, ExpressRoute etc.
Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot database-related issues.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
Media and Broadcast industry experience and knowledge preferred.
