JOB DETAIL

The Senior Business Analyst of the Boston University Medical Group (BUMG) reports directly to the Director of Administration and works closely with Senior Project Managers and the BUMG Finance department. The position will primarily be responsible for analyzing, developing and performing business processes to support the operations of BUMG Administration and managing reporting focused on the physician and advance practice professional populations.  This position will work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in order to support the organization’s strategic goals.

 

Core Duties

  • Gathers business requirements, understands and maps the full life cycle of business processes to ensure compliance with internal and external policies.
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of multiple dependent and co-dependent factors.
  • Analyzes metric reports to identify & interpret trends, variances and business performance.
  • Communicates findings in a clear and concise format.
  • Works to optimize system performance and participates in process design or improvement initiatives
  • Participates in identifying, creating, and monitoring current process metrics, process mapping, and if/then analysis on proposed process changes.
  • Assists with and/or creates project documentation, including functional, technical and conceptual design specifications, requirements/due diligence, use-cases, testing scenarios, process flow charts etc.
  • Updates documentation for internal system application and integration projects, including user and internal documentation.
  • Utilizes various software tools and applications for data extraction and analysis for project support.
  • Maintains new hire position control system and analyzes provider hiring data to identify trends and issues; prepares monthly and quarterly hiring reports for senior leadership.
  • Confirms employment offers meet approved compensation, budget and timeline requirements; works closely with Finance and Onboarding teams
  • Reviews and document current workflow of all faculty hiring processes.
  • Builds dashboards and prepares reports of key performance indicators related to strategic initiatives.
  • Produces ad hoc population reports for senior management and leadership.
  • Builds surveys, collects data, develops and generates reporting on survey results.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
