About the role
We are looking for an exceptional Power BI Developer to build and maintain new BI reporting and migrate existing reports from other data visualization environments into the Power BI ecosystem. This role will focus on a deep understanding of the Microsoft and Power BI ecosystem, with special attention to building highly performant reports on large datasets from a blend of input sources. This role also requires SQL experience, with experience in Snowflake and/or SAP HANA preferred. Experience with developing data visualizations using JavaScript/D3 is also helpful.
• Work with key business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable Power BI reporting that scales across the organization.
• Work within existing Power BI deployment pipelines to manage ongoing development and streamline existing processes where needed.
• Build DirectQuery and Import-based Power BI reports which are flexible, parameterized, and responsive for various levels of ad-hoc analysis, enabling end users to self-service as much as possible.
• Migrate reports from other tools (SAS, Excel, SAP XSA, etc.) into the Power BI environment.
• Merge disparate data sources such as Snowflake, SAP HANA, Excel sheets, and other data as needed to answer business questions.
• Standardize report UI development into clean templates to enable faster deployments.
• Document BI reports effectively with glossaries of key terms/KPI definitions.
• Implement data security and data governance roles and rules .
• Deploy incremental refreshes of extremely large datasets in Import mode, and understand performance tuning concepts in Power BI to enable both high-level and ground-level views.
