JOB DETAIL

Professional exposure to healthcare is highly desirable with experience in the healthcare payer space preferred as you’ll be working closely with cross functional teams across Operations, IT and our Business Units.

 

Core Role Responsibilities

The Business Analyst works with business partners and end users throughout the organization to understand and document customer requirements and assist with project implementations. These requirements are documented in a way that is understandable to the business with the necessary level of detail and clarity for technical and non-technical project resources.

 

The BA provides analytical guidance to the project team throughout the project lifecycle. Data analysis, familiarity with technology, and the ability to translate business requirements into system requirements are important to this role.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 3 years of directly relevant work experience
  • Experience with Claims Operations (payment, adjudication, subrogation, manual processes, pricing, prior authorizations, etc.)

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to conduct focused interviews, identify business process improvement opportunities, document and prioritize requirements, manage scope, focus on business value, and provide supporting visual documentation
  • Engage and lead stakeholders and other contributors in developing functional and non-functional business and use case requirements and must be able to distinguish between a stated need and what might best deliver the intended value
  • Industry knowledge of tools, techniques and industry best-practices for performing data analysis, business process flows and supporting documentation
  • Must show strong initiative and be able to work independently and be self-directed at time
  • Must engage and lead stakeholders and other contributors in developing functional and non-functional business and use case requirements and must be able to distinguish between a stated need and what might best deliver the intended value
  • Experience with customer/partner facing applications and services is preferred
  • Willing to extend beyond your specific job role to assist the team in system analysis, quality analysis, issue diagnosis etc. as necessary
  • Ability to work effectively on concurrent projects
  • Ability to relate well at all levels of the organization, building rapport, credibility and influence while maintaining collaborative relationships
  • Must have strong listening skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a ‘big picture’ mentality.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to effectively manage within it
  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills with data analytics & reporting experience
  • Healthplan experience strongly preferred
