Microsoft SQL Server data backup recovery security complex stored procedures reports

10+ years’ experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration
Bachelor of Science degree in a computer discipline or relevant certifications
Experience as a standalone DBA. Willing to work independently, drive critical efforts, and plan and manage work
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server data backup, recovery, security, and integrity
Experience implementing complex stored procedures, reports, and queries
Experience with database design and development
Experience administering SQL Server on Linux and Amazon RDS a plus
Experience with third party tools such as Redgate SQL Compare and SQL Data Compare
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly learn complex concepts
Self-starter. Takes initiative
Thorough and detail-oriented in task completion
Strong ability to work as part of a global team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly document data structures and their use
Experience working in aviation a plus
Experience with AWS

Key Responsibilities

Ensure 24/7 availability of all mission critical data. Be available to address issues as needed
Support multiple SQL Server instances on Linux, Windows and in Amazon RDS
Design and implement high quality data structures to meet the needs of the business. Ensure new structures are accessible, secure, and easy to understand
Architect new data structures to consolidate the data from multiple organizations and multiple relational database management systems including SQL Server and MySQL
Define database security and enable data distribution to the right users
Understand existing data and data structures. Document data model
Transform raw data into real business intelligence
Monitor database performance and design and implement performance improvements
Apply new patches and versions as required with minimal downtime
Empower the business to generate their own SQL reports and ad hoc queries. Provide necessary training
Transition existing SQL reporting and ad hoc data maintenance tasks to internal business stakeholders
Support software developers and others throughout the company in the use of the data. Ensure efficiency of queries and reports. Assist with the design and development of complex queries and reports
Support complex SQL Server processes
Support complex process to generate SQLite databases for mobile applications
Design, implement and test disaster recovery procedures
