The PowerBI Manager will be the newest addition to a growing BI practice.  The immediate need will be for the PowerBI Manager to quickly address, clean-up, and prepare critical financial reports that are built in Cognos to be migrated to PowerBI.  Once that is complete, the PowerBI Manager will begin to design, plan, develop, execute, and deploy the company-wide migration from a Cognos to a PowerBI and SQL DataLake environment.  The PowerBI Manager will have the opportunity to join, and assist in the growth of, a high-performing BI Team.

Management | About the Team: The BI Manager will join a small BI Team, consisting of 1 Data Analyst, 1 BI Developer, and the IT Leader over this group.  This team supports the reporting for the Business / Finance Teams across the enterprise.  In addition, this team also provide some offshore support, when needed.  The PowerBI Manager MUST be hands-on with report development and operations, as needed.  The PowerBI Manager will assist in designing and developing the BI Roadmaps and Strategies.  The PowerBI Manager will play a key role in building out and growing the BI Team in 2024.

About the Project: This company has a host of companies within their portfolio that they recently acquired, of which many of the reports are being built in Cognos.  Over the next 3-6 months, they will be making a push to migrate their long-term reporting and ERP environment to MS D365, which will utilize PowerBI for enterprise reporting.  Currently, they have reports that have been and are currently being built in Cognos and there is a need to these reports to be cleaned up in preparation for the migration along with new report development in Cognos until the migration is implemented.  The long-term solution is to migrate their data over to MS D365, perform a data migration to a SQL DataLake, and utilize PowerBI for Business Intelligence Reporting to support their business units and finance team.

• PowerBI Manager – Managing 5+ Direct Reports / Developing BI Roadmaps and Strategies
• Data Migrations – Design / Plan / Develop / Execute / Deploy Migration from Cognos to PowerBI / SQL DataLake
• PowerBI Development (hands-on) – Report Design / Creation (ground-up) / BI Migrations
• Cloud Platform – Azure / DataLakes / DataFactory, etc.
