Responsibilities:

• Participate in troubleshooting issues following established procedures, documenting problems, managing incidents (ServiceNow, JIRA, etc)
• Perform test deployments in NONPROD environments
• Triage issues and incidents and route them to an appropriate team member         
• Act as second person (observer) in procedures requiring two-person control
• Review network ACL configurations and point out deficiencies using established procedures
• Monitor AWS resources usage using read-only tools and established procedures, report findings
• Work with other teams on scheduling and preparing key rotation procedures
• Review and validate BYOK onboarding documents completed by other teams and report findings
• Review team documentation and point out obsolete parts and areas in need of improvement
• Monitor backup jobs using logs and Splunk queries
• Maintain equipment lists and elevation diagrams

Qualifications:

• Experience with Linux RHEL and  Standard UNIX utilities and programs
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS)
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Icinga/Nagios and log aggregation tools such as Splunk
• Experience with parsing and analyzing logs
• Conceptual understanding of multi-tiered and web-based information systems architecture
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Good communications and documentation skills
• Good understanding of the operating system networking stack, TCP, ICMP and UDP, ACLs. IPv6 is a plus
• Experience around Security and Compliance is a plus
