JOB DETAIL

Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) is undertaking an exciting multi- year journey called Administrative Modernization Program to improve our Human Capital, Finance and Information Technology Business Processes and replacing our 20-year-old Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology. 

City Schools is taking a customer and business process approach to drive the development, configuration and adoption of the new business processes and technologies associated with the initiative.

Position Overview

  • This a 24-to-36-month Long-term Consulting position is in Baltimore City School’s Office of Information Technology and reports to the ERP Project Lead and works cross-functionally with the Agile Organization & Change Management Specialist
  • We are seeking a Trainer who will have full accountability for our ERP implementation training and will Deliver the ERP vendor training (they will provide “train the trainer” training. 
  • The trainer is accountable, in collaboration the City School’s subject matter experts and organization change manager, to scale the training to both functional users and end-users (e.g., principles, teachers, bus drivers, food service staff, and operational staff) through multiple channels (virtual and face to face) to deliver skills through training for our users of various new technology and associated new business practices.
  • The trainer will also be accountable for training communications and will work cross-functionally with the implementation teams (change management and technical team) and in collaboration with users, user groups, and subject matter experts to create simple marketing videos, training announcements, training registration  in addition to delivering training and conducting evaluations.
  • The training domains are in financial, human capital, time keeping, payroll, and other automated business technologies. 
  • The business and technical teams implementing these technologies will deliver the “train the trainer” classes and associated material, and then to be delivered in person and Online. 
  • Accountabilities of this role also include leading the collaboration with stakeholder in the design and methods of adult learning training, marketing, and scheduling training, as well as assessing the training effectiveness to collaborate with stakeholders to improve training content. 
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will partner with subject matter experts to coordinate, frame, and integrate standard operating procedures during the training.

Essential Functions

  • Assumes training responsibility in collaboration with other ERP related project manager, change management, and business process staff and teams for the following:
  • Provide training for the ERP training project Schedule and deliver vendor and City Schools provided training.
  • Assess training needs for a broad variety of staff in the K-12 education sector related to the implementation of new administrative technologies and related business processes.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to incorporate standard operating procedures into training.
  • Assess, document, and provide feedback about training from users.
  • Providing efficient and cost-effective training development and delivery.
  • Collaborate with staff and vendors to implement multiple channels for training.
  • Partnering with administrative functions to develop ownership and capacity to deliver initial and recurrence training.
  • Identifying interdepartmental training cooperation opportunities and promoting cross-functionality.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in training, organization development or related field.
  • At least four years' experience as a trainer.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Training aptitude – is outgoing, flexible and a learner in the role they love teaching others important work-related skills.
  • Proficiency in Oracle business administration software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Superb self-leadership and collaboration abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
