The weekly hybrid schedule consists of two days on-site in Manassas, VA, and three days remote (starting on day one of position, November 20, 2023). 

The interview schedule involves three rounds of meetings with SWIFT.

The initial two interviews would be WebEx video meetings, and then a mandatory on-site final interview in Manassas, VA at SWIFT’s office.

Our crypto-currency financial messaging partner SWIFT in Manassas, VA provides government support to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and private sector clients including Coinbase and Robinhood. There is no government clearance needed for this role. SWIFT is seeking a Java Developer with 6+ years’ experience in design/development/testing tasks in Java, Unix, Linux, along with a few years' experience in Cassandra database and performing Docker containerization. Our client SWIFT has begun their Swiftnet Service Applications, and they’re seeking to build on their development team! The objective of the role is to integrate multiple UNIX systems into one centralized database to enhance big data reporting in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technologies. You would perform analysis and designs of new UNIX and Linux (RHEL) features along with enhancements to existing components, along with support on setting-up automated test environments, writing unit test drivers and functional drivers (automation in Selenium). The UNIX systems are already built out at SWIFT, and they're seeking a Java Developer to help modernize system functions in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). You would join an Agile/SCRUM team of five Java Developers at SWIFT. Our client SWIFT requires the weekly hybrid schedule of two days on-site in their Manassas, VA office and three days remote, starting on day one of the contract. This is a 5-month contract (w/ possible extension) starting November 20, 2023.

The three-step interview process begins with two WebEx video meetings with SWIFT’s HR Dept. and Technical Team, then an on-site final interview in SWIFT’s Manassas, VA office. The final interview is performed with the SWIFT Chief Information Office (CIO) and two Project Managers. There will be an open-source Java 8 coding exercise in the final round interview. An offer letter is anticipated by November 13 to start the role on November 20, 2023.

Job Description:

Work alongside our messaging team. The messaging team works on customer facing applications as well supports a test tool used by internal customers. A portion of this tool is written in Java. This position would require someone strong in Java to support, enhance, debug the automation framework.

We would also expect them to design new features for our applications. They will be working on high-visibility applications that have costumer commitments written in Java. They will need to understand how each application interacts with other layers and how it relates to messaging. It will also be beneficial for this person to have hands-on experience working with UNIX/LINUX systems including command line navigation. Knowing scripting languages is a plus.

They will also be expected to integrate complex messaging components and ensure that interface requirements are met and verify E2E flows and may be asked to develop in that space. They should also be willing to contribute to test automation, write unit test cases, and support the QA environment, as necessary.
