JOB DETAIL

•                     Provide technical and functional expertise and support for the PeopleSoft HCM applications in an Oracle environment

•                     Develop and maintain PeopleSoft applications, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, ongoing maintenance, and the resolution of system issues

•                     Develop strong relationships with end users to effectively troubleshoot problems and recommend good solutions

•                     Work with end users to define scope of business needs and translate processes into detailed functional requirements or design specifications

•                     Design, code, and unit test complex projects

•                     Develop and maintain integration between PeopleSoft HCM and external applications

•                     Identify developmental or design risks and action plans

•                     Develop and support new and existing structured query reporting (SQR) programs

•                     Prepare training materials and user documentation to assist in providing custom training and education to end users

•                     Assist with system upgrades and prepare data mapping for conversion requirements

•                     Acquire new skills and knowledge to stay at the forefront of information systems tools for PeopleSoft and software quality assurance

•                     Additional duties as assigned

 

Skills/Abilities/Experience & Qualifications:

•                     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or similar field strongly preferred

•                     5+ years of experience working with PeopleSoft HCM data and data models

•                     5+ years of PeopleTools experience, current experience with version 8.55 or later

•                     5+ years of experience with Oracle or similar relational database required

•                     5+ years of PeopleCode, SQL, and SQR experience

•                     3+ years of development experience utilizing PeopleSoft Application Engine

•                     Experience with PeopleSoft HCM applications and XML Publisher is a plus

•                     Experience with Application Package and/or Fluid page development is a plus

•                     Demonstrated experience with Oracle SQL performance tuning and optimization

•                     Ability to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and lead high-visibility efforts

•                     Ability to demonstrate advanced knowledge of algorithms, programming structures, and numerical analysis

•                     Experience leading a team in a development environment

•                     Strong knowledge of and adherence to development standards (including testing and migration procedures) and implementing best practices

•                     Ability to address unusual system related issues and proactively resolve inquiries

•                     Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with end users

•                     Strong conceptual and problem solving skills, with the ability to develop initiatives, as well as recommend solutions to improve efficiency

•                     Demonstrate solid leadership qualities and take ownership of all development related issues

•                     Self-starter with excellent time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with ease, while maintaining a strong focus on detail

•                     Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to shifting priorities

•                     Capacity to work well independently, as well as in a team, with the ability to collaborate with other team members and foster a team environment

•                     Strategic thinker with the ability to find new ways to complete tasks

•                     Demonstrated ability to drive tasks from identification to resolution

•                     Houston, Texas area resident

Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:

•                     Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

•                     Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis

•                     Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally

•                     Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment

•                     Hours regularly exceed 40 hours per week.
