Job Description

The Sr. SQL Developer will collaborate with other IT departments (FE, QA, DevOps and product) to implement various features supporting music rights licensing, administration, and royalty accounting platforms following SDLC standards. A person who is open to sharing solutions, ideas and willing to research and find better approaches which can help team solve the problem and task more effectively. Design, build, maintain, and optimize large scale data entry, processing, and reporting in PostgreSQL running on-prem and/or cloud. Solid experience designing and developing high performance systems using RDBMS & querying is required. The right candidate will need to have professional knowledge of developing writing SQL queries, pgPL/SQL procedures, ETL processes but will be good to have understanding about python scripts as well.

• Design, develop and maintain high performance complex data processing & querying logic on multi-DB environment (cloud and on-prem).

• Participate in various requirements sessions with internal teammates and convert business / functional requirements into technical solutions, along with supporting materials such as use cases, designs, flowcharts, models, specifications, and reports.

• Provide technical support to requirements, development, and testing.

• Work directly with Product Management, Business Intelligence and Data Engineering to develop end-user training and reference materials.

• Draft standards and procedures affecting data analysis and process modeling, as well as large scale data design & processing, maintenance, and management.

• Support initiatives related to scalability and performance.

• Conduct performance tuning reviews for improvements and prepare written reports of findings, including recommendations.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years backend development experience. Specifically, stored procedures in a PostgreSQL and SQL.

• 7+ years doing ETL processes. It will be a big plus doing it on cloud environment specifically on AWS.

• 7+ years with performance tuning and optimization in a PostgreSQL.

• 3+ years working in an Object-Oriented programming language like JAVA.

• 3+ years working with web-based applications.

• 3+ years working with scripting programing languages such as Bash, ...

• Advanced knowledge and experience following to SDLC standards, dev, test/QA.

• Advanced knowledge of Linux command line.

• Ability to analyze project requirements and develop detailed specifications, designs, and data flow charts.

• Confident and proactive self-starter, skilled in taking initiative, assessing requirements, coming up with plans, and taking the lead in making plans reality.

• Advanced knowledge of decision and intelligence systems concepts working with a big data, and database structures such as normalization, DataMart’s, fact tables, dimensions, views, indexing, and partitions.

Good to have practical experience implementing scalable tasks which includes in it big data processing and analyzing (Spark is plus).
