JOB DETAIL

The candidate will …

• Work business hours and provide after-hours support including but not limited to weekends, holidays, and on-call.

• Provide coverage for other Oracle DBAs as necessary. Contract Duration: 1 to 2 years (renewed annually).

 

Responsibilities

• Install, implement, test, and maintain Oracle databases.

• Provide Database Administrator (DBA) Support for application developers.

• Disaster Recovery preparedness for Oracle Database Servers by maintaining and tuning backup and recovery processes.

• Installs, configures, and patches Oracle.

• Complete SQL and other shell scripting

• Identify and troubleshoot performance issues

• Monitor major data movement processes

• Ensure information security

• Provide end-user support to technical and non-technical audiences

 

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong Database Administration experience with Oracle technologies

• Strong knowledge in writing and maintaining shellscripts

• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems

• In-depth experience performing Oracle database backup and restores

• Experience supporting Oracle backend for Peoplesoft

• Strong Analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Strong Technical communication skills

• String documentation skills

• Work well in a collaborative team environment

• Be able to work on multiple projects and assignments at the same time in an organized manner

 

Experience and Education

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the last 7 years as an Oracle Database Administrator in a lead role include DB design (modelling and normalization), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, back-up, and recovery, managing schemas, report generation and DB clustering technologies.

• Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field
