JOB DETAIL

The City of Boston's Data Analytics team is at the forefront of leveraging data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and improve the overall efficiency of municipal operations. As part ofour commitment to innovation, we are undergoing a strategic migration from Tableau to Power BI to enhance our business intelligence capabilities. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI Implementation Lead to spearhead this transition and drive the successful

adoption of Power BI across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership:

  • 12 + Years Exp
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of Power BI, including planning, design, configuration, testing, and deployment.

 

2. Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy from Tableau to Power BI, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and design dashboards that provide actionable insights.

 

3. Training and Adoption:

  • Develop documentation and best practices to support the ongoing use and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards.

 

4. Quality Assurance:

  • Establish and enforce data quality standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Power BI reports.
  • Implement robust testing procedures to identify and resolve issues during the migration process.

 

5. Technical Expertise:

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with technical support when necessary.

 

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including department heads, analysts, and IT teams.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to leadership in a clear and concise manner.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading successful Power BI implementations, preferably in a government or municipal setting.
  • Strong understanding of Power BI configuration and administration
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and other relevant technologies.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization principles.
