JOB DETAIL

    Expertise in the cloud compatible DBMS – Oracle / MS SQL
    Ability to provision and configure database instances in the cloud environment, including selecting the appropriate database type, storage, and network settings.
    Knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, security groups, and network peering, to ensure secure and performant communication between database instances and other services.
    Proficiency in using automation tools and Infrastructure as Code frameworks (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Terraform) to provision and manage cloud database resources.
    Knowledge of various backup and recovery methods to ensure data is protected and can be restored in case of data loss or system failure
    Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and manage data within the database. 
    Ability to install and set up the DBMS software, configure database parameters, and establish security settings.
    Knowledge of database security measures, including user authentication, access controls, encryption, and auditing.
    Database Installation and Configuration: Installing Oracle software and setting up the database environment. This includes configuring database parameters, creating tablespaces, and setting up security measures.
    Database Maintenance and Monitoring: Regularly monitoring the database to ensure optimal performance and identifying and resolving any issues that arise. This involves managing database storage, performing backups, and implementing recovery procedures.
    Performance Tuning: Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks to optimize database performance. This may involve tuning SQL queries, optimizing indexes, and adjusting configuration parameters. 
    Backup and Recovery: Implementing backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss and to recover the database in case of failures.
    Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnosing and resolving database-related problems, such as errors, data corruption, and connectivity issues. 
    Disaster Recovery: Implementing disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity in case of a catastrophic event.
    Patch Management and Upgrades: Keeping the database software up-to-date by applying patches and upgrades to fix bugs, enhance performance, and add new features.
