The Executive Office of Education (EOE) is seeking a Salesforce Architect to join our new Salesforce Center of Excellence, a team that will be dedicated to maintaining and supporting Salesforce applications for EOE. The candidate will serve as a source of expertise for Salesforce within EOE and with external vendors.
This person will be responsible for developing new code and supporting existing code hosted across the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Salesforce applications. This position will work with stakeholders and peers to design, develop and support Salesforce and related applications using industry standard practices and tools. EOE IT follows a lean/agile development methodology.
The ideal candidate should be able to work in all tiers of the architecture and have experience with the Salesforce platform and integrations with external systems, as well as experience with transformation from Salesforce Classic to Lightning. You’ll be acting as a trusted advisor to our team and clients, and an effective mentor for other Salesforce professionals working alongside you. You will need a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform but just as importantly, top-notch people skills to get your ideas and solutions across to stakeholders and gain integrity to get your visions built into successful solutions.
Responsibilities
1. The Salesforce Architect is responsible for collaborating with the DESE/EEC Organization, Project Managers, developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance, in the process of creating software deliverables and artifacts.
2. As a member of the team, you must adhere to the organization’s methodologies and standards, and propose improvements based on software development best practices.
3. Perform bug fixes, feature enhancements, run software updates and health checks as required by Salesforce, maintain integrations with other applications, manage licenses and access, and ensure accessibility and security in line with enterprise standards.
4. Understanding the requirements and acting as lead in design review sessions of Salesforce.com functional and technical modules including those requiring APEX development.
5. Design, develop and implement technical design/solutions for initiatives involving: a. Enhancements to the CRM, or use of Salesforce.com modules. b. Performing issue resolutions. c. Configurations for our Salesforce implementation projects specific to each business unit. d. Analyzing technical specifications and documentation of any new application under consideration or employment to determine its intended functionality. e. Creating and implementing solution design(s) which provides optimal application performance according to specifications.
6. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings to discuss current tasks and weekly status reports.
7. Assist agencies in drafting procurements, as needed. When outside vendors are brought in to do development work, the team will hold them accountable for meeting these standards and ensure all work they do is appropriately documented.
8. Perform Salesforce admin duties as needed.
