Job Summary:
Persistent IT is seeking IT Scrum Master to support the firm’s IT Data CoE. The role facilitates and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
The candidate is expected to ensure that all the IT teams’ work packages are thoroughly implemented, and inter-team dependencies are met. The candidate must be a people manager, technically proficient, able to multi-task well, explain solutions clearly, is well organized, and can work independently with minimal oversight. This role will work closely with the Project Manager.
Previous exposure/knowledge of trade finance - SWAPS, Derivatives at a bank desired.
Major Responsibilities:
- Gets team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.
- Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
- Coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge and communicates effectively, both internally and externally working within the Scrum team.
- Works with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
- Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related business discipline(s).
- 10-12 years’ work experience with IT. CSM certification desired.
- Knowledge on trade finance – esp SWAPS is highly recommended.
- Proven analytical abilities. Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions
- Experience in data warehouse, data visualization techniques and tools. Ability to understand complex data relationships
- Proficient with ServiceNow, Confluence and Jira
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Effective presentation skills, combined with extreme attention to detail
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
