Regarding the position, we do have only this one Java/Mule developer on our team. We will have support from other teams to onboard the new developer, but we won’t have any overlap with our previous developer. Therefore the idea candidate would be senior enough to be able to step in, review the code, dig into it and understand it.

The Java and Mulesoft involved serves are our middle-ware layer between Salesforce and multiple internal/external applications. So the work is mostly consist of maintaining and enhancing existing integrations, which receive calls from Salesforce, turn around and make one or more callouts of their own, then compile a response and return it to Salesforce.
