- Database Design and Architecture
- Design and implement scalable, performant and highly available Oracle database solutions
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Oracle best practices, configurations, and processes
- Database Development and optimization
- Write complex PL/SQL queries, functions, stored procedures, and packages to support application development
- Optimize Oracle database performance through various tuning techniques and assist development to build optimal database design
- Monitor database performance metrics, analyze and identify bottlenecks, and recommend short-term and long-term solutions
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define performance test strategy, and develop toolsets to generate synthetic datasets for effective and repeatable performance tests on Oracle
- Database Administration
- Perform Oracle installation, configuration, and upgrades in development environments
- Monitor and maintain database health to ensure data integrity, availability, and disaster recovery
- Collaborate with production DBA team to troubleshoot and resolve database production issue in timely manner
- Perform technical troubleshooting and provide best practice recommendations to clients
- Collaboration and Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and consultation to engineering teams
We value
- Extensive hands-on experience in Oracle as a PL/SQL developer or DBA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot and resolve database related issues
- Proficiency in Oracle performance monitoring and tuning
- Programming experience in Java, C++, C#, JDBC, Sprint boot, and Microservices is a plus
- Experience with developing applications for the financial markets is a plus (Fixed Income, Trading, FX, Risk, Portfolio/Wealth Management, Market Data, FIX, etc.)
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience as an Oracle database developer with PL/SQL expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in Oracle performance monitoring, diagnosing and tuning using Oracle OEM and AWR reports
- Expert experience as an Oracle database administrator on Oracle RAC in virtual and cloud environments
- Experience automating administrative tasks using Bash or scripting languages
- Strong track record of building high performance, production quality software on schedule
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
