JOB DETAIL


Purpose of Role: 
A professional SQL Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.
 
Brief Description of Accountabilities:
•    Monitor database performance, identifying problems that arise and implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
•    Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
•    Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
•    Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
•    Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
•    Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
•    Liaise with senior IT department personnel on various issues
•    Liaise with external consultants/Contractors
•    Project Management
•    Troubleshooting problems with Business Analyst, Server admin & Network admin
•    Involve in Application installation
•    Adherence to documentation requirements
 
Experience and Qualifications
1.    Microsoft SQL Expertise. (Need to be Level 2 DBA moving towards Level 3)
2.    Other SQL Database Administration
3.    Oracle Database Experience
