JOB DETAIL

The resource’s function is essential in securing the City of New York’s systems, and the mission critical services that rely on them requiring strong controls over the identities that manage these systems via privileged access. The deployment of a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution across NYC information systems will ensure compliance with Citywide policies standards, procedures, and federally mandated regulations; reduce the security risks from password-only access, unauthorized access, and compromised credentials; decrease technical/administrative overhead for agencies by automating the creation, maintenance and removal of user identities; create more reliable information systems and increasing resiliency, and more efficient provision of services to New Yorkers enabled by technology.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The senior project manager will work with City agencies to deploy a citywide privileged access management (PAM) solution to reduce the security risks associated with password-only access, unauthorized access, and compromised credentials; create more reliable information systems, and increase resiliency.

TASKS:

  • Work directly with vendors, technical staff, and agencies to ensure project success; coordinate with internal stakeholders across the agency to facilitate communication to agencies, adoption, and project ramp up, reporting and roll outs.
  • Manage multi-function team coordination, opportunity screening, proposal development, cost/benefit analysis, vendor selection, schedule and budget oversight, contactor/vendor management, issue resolution, and project close out.
  • Develop approved project proposals and assist in the development of project charters, cost estimates, and other project related artifacts; facilitate business case analysis.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and resources; and develop and maintain a division level project delivery schedule with well- documented materials, Gantt chart and other executive briefing materials; perform related duties as required.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will

not be considered

  • At least 8 years of experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Agile and Waterfall projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Identity Management projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of complex network architecture, hosting strategies
  • Understanding of authentication integration in Windows and Linux environments
  • Knowledge of NIST framework related to Identity & Access Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple, high intensity projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of various project management tools.
  • Willingness to travel to agency offices within NYC as required.
