JOB DETAIL

  • Administration and support of the VMware vSphere environment and related ESXi hosts, including but are not limited to, upgrading and patching virtualization software, building/patching hosts, deploying virtual machines, monitoring, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, creating snapshots and utilizing virtualization tools.  Also, advise on optimal settings based on industry best practices and agency security standards.
  • Administration and support of Windows Server Operating System for servers residing on premises and in Azure.  Tasks include installation, configuration, patching via WSUS, diagnosing/resolving server hardware and software problems, developing templates, and utilization of system, security, and event management tools.  Also, advise on optimal settings based upon industry best practices, CISCAT benchmarks, and agency security standards.
  • Administration and support of Microsoft Active Directory and related resources, including Domain Controllers, AD Federated Services, Group Policy, Certificates; utilization of  PowerShell scripts to query and configure settings as needed; and advise on impact of changes that integrate with AD to ensure optimal security per industry standards and agency security requirements.
  • Administration of Trend Micro's Deep Security anti-malware software; upgrade and patch software, monitor alerts, manage agents, etc.
  • Document IT infrastructure and procedures related to support of hardware and software;  and provide training and written instructions for technical initiatives to ensure staff skills are developed to provide adequate support of current and/or proposed systems.
  • Analyze and evaluate new technology and proposed system modifications; act as advisor to ensure standards/best practices are followed and new solutions will integrate with existing systems; and provide software and hardware roadmaps to assist with keeping systems current and ensuring procurements are completed as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure organizational objectives and business needs are addressed; ensure management is apprised of delays and potential problems; and communicate recommendations regarding organizational initiatives.

  • Maintains the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers. Ensures that the uptime, performance, resources and security of the computers he or she manages meet the needs of the users.

Requirements

  • This is an 100% Onsite
  • 60 months of experience administering VMware vSphere environment and ESXi hosts including upgrade/patching of virtualization software, building/patching hosts, deploying virtual machines, monitoring, problem diagnosis & resolution, and utilization of virtualization tools including vCenter and vRealize.
  • 60 months of experience administering Microsoft Windows Server Operating System, preferably version 2012r2 and higher, including installation, configuration, patching via WSUS, troubleshooting/problem resolution, etc., as well as utilization of system and event management tools to monitor performance and security related matters.
  • 60 months experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and related resources, including Domain Controllers, Active Directory Federated Services, Group Policy, Certificates, etc., combined with experience utilizing PowerShell scripts to query and configure AD attributes.
  • 36 months experience administering, monitoring and maintaining anti-malware software for virtual machines/environment.
  • 36 months experience with Technical Writing to ensure processes, procedures, system designs, etc., are documented for the support of software/hardware and can be used for knowledge transfer for current and future staff.
