JOB DETAIL

  • Work directly with Dell’s customer support team to coordinate and assistance with all upgrade activities.
  • Hands on experience working with VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail infrastructure in a customer’s production infrastructure.
  • Hands on experience working with life cycle management operations (apply updates/patches/upgrades as needed) in VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail infrastructure.
  • Hands on experience working with day 2 operations like Password Management, VI Workload Domain tasks like adding new nodes or removing existing, User Management, Backup etc in VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail infrastructure.
  • Hands on experience working with day 2 operations with vSAN in VMware Cloud Foundation on VxRail infrastructure.
  • Hands on experience working with day 2 operations with VxRails like factory reset or re-image VxRail nodes.
  • Additional working knowledge of VMware products like Aria Operations, VMware Site Recovery Manager, vSphere Replication etc is good to have.
  • General VMware infrastructure management knowledge. How to do permissions, VM management, licensing, and vSphere management
  • Able to articulate and recommend best practices in a VCF +VxRail environment.
  • Knowledge of the VxRail+ VCF support process. Able to open/manage support cases with Dell EMC and/or VMware.
  • Conducts knowledge transfer for new technology features, management and admin activities, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist with steps/processes needed to initiate VCF upgrade (if needed). Important to note resident can help coordinate with CS to schedule upgrade, but resident will not execute the upgrade that is a CS function.
  • Assist customer in optimizing the VxRail environment.
  • Share best practice methodologies throughout the residency assignment.
  • Resident is expected to be self-directed, able to accomplish tasks with little to no direction.
  • Resident must be consultative and take the lead to resolve any issues that may come up during the residency assignment.
  • Must have customer facing experience.
