JOB DETAIL

  • Migrate existing reports: Analyze and understand existing reports currently generated using Visual Basic within Sage 500.
  • Rebuild reports in Power BI: Recreate the functionality and visualizations of the existing reports within Power BI, taking advantage of its modern data analysis capabilities.
  • Data integration: Connect Power BI to your Sage 500 data source, ensuring secure and efficient data access.
  • Data transformations: Clean, prepare, and transform raw data from Sage 500 to make it suitable for analysis in Power BI.
  • Report design and development: Design visually appealing and informative reports in Power BI, utilizing its rich set of visuals and data storytelling features.
  • Testing and maintenance: Thoroughly test the redesigned reports to ensure accuracy and functionality, and provide ongoing maintenance as needed.
  • Documentation: Document the data sources, transformations, and report logic for future reference and maintainability.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in Power BI: Strong understanding of Power BI desktop, query editor, data modeling, visualizations, and DAX formulas.
  • Sage 500 knowledge: In-depth understanding of Sage 500 data structure, tables, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Visual Basic: Good working knowledge of Visual Basic scripting used in Sage 500 reports.
  • Data analysis skills: Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify trends and insights, and translate them into meaningful reports.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and database management.
  • Communication and collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and explain technical concepts.
