JOB DETAIL

• The Sr. Business Systems Analyst here is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and technical needs of strategic programs/projects on the Derivative Trading and Hedging area for Investment Risk Management ;

• Projects will involve several business areas with scope of medium to large complexity, ambiguity, urgency, risk, and technical and regulatory sophistication.

• The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as the lead for most of the analysis efforts of assigned programs/projects; coordinating the work with other business system analysts or developers as needed.

• Acting as a liaison, facilitating, and communicating among several business and IT partners. Accountabilities:

• Supports all projects encompassing Derivative Trading team and impacted systems.

• Supports medium to large complex projects involving ambiguity and risk encompassing multiple cross-functional business areas.

• Facilitates and leads interviews with business and technology partners to coordinate comprehensive needs and potential interdependencies.

• Partners with Product Owners to identify requirements for system and process enhancements.

• Collects user requirements and acceptance criteria from business partners and translates them to user stories for the product teams to work from.

• Creates Epics and User Stories in JIRA with clearly documented Acceptance Criteria

• Ensures all User Stories meets the Definition of Done established before moving them into Sprint Backlog from the Product Backlog.

• Creates and Ensures the right amount of Confluence documentation on the Released Features and Epics.

• Leads analysis efforts and coordinates efforts of other BSAs.

• Leads/demonstrates techniques to build business and functional requirements (artifacts).

• Analyzes business problems and makes recommendations for creative solutions.

• Facilitates, prioritizes, and proposes business process re-designs to improve process results.

• Develop relationships across multiple business and technology areas.

• Increases business acumen and awareness of best practices to continuously improve business analysis capabilities.

• Proficient at right-sizing the message to the audience. Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• 5+ years of experience as a successful Business System Analyst with increased responsibilities in the annuity or insurance industry.

• Proficient in business analysis concepts (business process modeling (BPM), system context diagram development, data analysis, use cases, user stories).

• 3+ years of experience operating as a Business System Analyst within an Agile framework.

• Proficiency with techniques used in requirements elicitation, project scoping, requirements analysis, project planning, and analysis activities.

• Domain experience with Hedging Platforms and Derivative Trading Systems and processes, licensing and appointments, commission processing and hierarchical structures.

• Hands on experience in creating and maintaining Epics and User Stories in JIRA and maintaining well structured Product Backlog and Sprint Backlog

• Hands on experience ins Confluence Documentation.
